Correction of the "short" penis

In a small percentage of boys and men, the penile length, while normal, appears less than normal or "short" due to the presence of a peno-scrotal web, which masks the base of the penis on the "underside" of the shaft. This is caused by the lack of definition of the base of the penile shaft due to scrotal skin continuing into the penile skin and being attached further (distally) on the underside of the shaft.

Besides the embarrassment caused by the appearance, there is also significant interference when attempting sexual intercourse.

This peno-scrotal web can be re-arranged with a tecnique called the "5 Flap Z Plasty", in which the web is divided into 5 separate flaps of skin and then re-arranged to eliminate the web, to restore the separation of scrotal and penile skin and to permit the penis, especially in it's erect state, to show it's true length and achieve all the psychological "feel good" factors due to normal appearance.

The surgery is done under General Anaesthesia, takes about an hour and will need about 2 weeks to recover from.

The surgery is generally uneventful, especially when all postoperative instructions, including the avoidance of tight clothes and sexual stimulation of any sort are followed
