Training
Dr Arianayagam is a graduate of the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, gaining his MBBS from the University of Madras, India, in 1972.
Post Graduate Training
Dr Arianayagam's career has seen him train and work in India, Malaysia, The United Kingdom, the USA, and since 1988, in Australia.
Dr Arianayagam was awarded the Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1978, and The Fellowship of The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery in 2001.
Appointments
Dr Arianayagam is a Visiting Medical Officer in Plastic Surgery, with admitting rights at the following hospitals:-
- Baringa Private Hospital, Coffs Harbour.
- Coffs Harbour Day Surgical Centre.
- Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
- Armidale Private Hospital.
- Tamara Private Hospital, Tamworth.
Teaching Committments
Dr Arianayagam's major interest is in the teaching and training of medical students and surgical trainees.
While in Malaysia, he was the Head and Senior consultant of The Dept. of Plastic Surgery at the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital. He was responsible for training Plastic Surgeons, as well as trainees from other surgical specialties.
In Coffs Harbour, he is involved in the supervision and teaching of Surgical trainees at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
He is a Conjoint Lecturer of The Department of Surgery, School of Rural Health (Coffs Harbour) University of New South Wales, and is involved in the teaching and training of medical students at the School of Rural Health.
